Fourteen first responders with the Green Bay Fire Department are under quarantine as city officials brace for the new coronavirus to make its way to Brown County. Fire Chief David Litton said during a City Council meeting Tuesday that the employees are quarantined after they either traveled near high-risk areas using commercial airlines or came home sick. It was not immediately clear when they can return to work. Brown County does not yet have a confirmed case of COVID-19. "That’s not due to any patient exposure at this point," Litton said, noting that paramedics wear specific gear when people are screened for the virus. Litton also restricted paramedics older than age 50 with underlying health conditions from riding on ambulances.
