Off-duty River Falls Firefighter-EMT killed while working on safety crew at speedway

An off-duty Wisconsin firefighter-EMT was killed Friday while clearing the scene of a collision as part of a speedway safety crew. River Falls Firefighter-EMT Eddie Nicholson, 62, died after a damaged bus rolled onto him in the aftermath of the crash at Cedar Lake Speedway, according to RiverTowns.net. Nicholson was a second-generation firefighter and a more than 30-year veteran of the River Falls Fire Department, according to a statement from the department. He was also an active member of River Falls EMS, the agency said in a statement. In addition to his service at the fire and EMS departments and on the speedway safety crew, Nicholson worked driving tow trucks for Twin Cities Transport and Recovery.
