A kitchen fire caused an estimated $50,000 worth of damage on the city's west side Sunday. The Green Bay Metro Fire Department responded to a report around noon of a fire with visible smoke and flames in the 700 block of Winford Avenue. Firefighters saw smoke and flames coming from a window when they arrived. They were able to bring the fire under control in under 10 minutes. Firefighters said the fire started in the kitchen but the cause of the fire remains under investigation. One person was displaced. No one was injured in the fire.
