36-year-old man in critical condition following lake rescue in Oconomowoc

A 36-year-old man was transported to a hospital in critical condition following a lake rescue in the area of the dam between Fowler Lake and Lac LaBelle in Oconomowoc around 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10. The Western Lakes Fire District responded for a possible drowning in the 500 block of Lake Road at 9:18 p.m for a report that a 36-year-old man was swimming in the channel when he went missing. Officials say a witness on scene said the man was not wearing a life jacket when he went missing. The first units arrived at 9:22 p.m. Officials say rescuers were able to locate and remove the individual from the water at 10:05 p.m. Paramedics began resuscitation efforts at scene and the man was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. As of Sunday morning, there were no updates on the patient's condition.
