A 66-year-old Greenfield man was killed Monday when a tree fell on him, according to officials.
At 2:15 p.m., Greenfield Fire-Rescue units responded to the 4100 block of West Squire Avenue for the report of a subject trapped under a fallen tree, Greenfield Fire Chief Jon Cohn said in an email.
Additional Greenfield fire units were sent due to the reported nature of the incident, he said.
Crews worked to free the man from under the fallen tree and he was tended to by Greenfield Fire-Rescue paramedics, Cohn said, but died.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office was called to the scene.
The man, who has not been identified, lived at the residence, the Medical Examiner's Office said.
