La Crosse Fire Department responds to overnight bluff rescue

The La Crosse Fire Department, with assistance from Technical Rescue Team members, successfully rescued someone from the bluffs early Monday morning. At approximately 12:08 a.m., the fire department was dispatched to 4499 Grandad Bluff Road for a person that had fallen from the bluff. La Crosse Fire made contact with the patient along with La Crosse Police Department personnel that were on scene, and were able to safely evacuate the person. They were taken to Gundersen Health System by Tri-State Ambulance for injuries. No other injuries were reported. A total of 12 firefighters with the La Crosse Fire Department responded to the incident, along with rescue team members from 3 stations.
