Orfordville Fire Officials are looking into the cause of an early morning blaze west of Beloit. Fire Chief Gene Wright says a Rock County sheriff’s deputy called in the fire about 3:00 a.m. at a home in the 6600 block of Highway 81. The highway was closed in each direction between Smythe School Road and Mill Pond Road for the response. Wright says firefighters found an SUV and dumpster completely engulfed in flames when they arrived. Wright says in only took a few minutes to get the fire under control, but it did spread to the front of the garage and heat melted siding on the home. No one was reported hurt.
