Beloit police investigating passenger death in car vs. fire truck crash

Beloit police opened an investigation into a death after a car crash Saturday, when an intoxicated driver collided with a fire truck. According to a news release from Beloit Police Department spokesperson Sarah Lock, the crash happened at Leeson Park at 4:03 p.m. Saturday. Marvin Flint, 56, crashed into a fire truck with lights flashing. He was arrested shortly after for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Firefighters reported that the female passenger in Flint's car looked "slumped over" before he hit the truck. The 43-year-old woman was unresponsive following the crash and then pronounced dead at a local emergency room. The Rock County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Lock said no firefighters were injured in the collision.
