Crews battled a fire at a multi-unit apartment complex in Wisconsin Rapids overnight Monday into Tuesday.
According to officials at the Wood County Dispatch Center, crews spent several hours dealing with a fire on 1st Street North. The buildings sustained 'significant,' damage and will likely be ruled a total loss.
Crews said that the American Red Cross was on the scene helping residents.
Police and fire officials will be on the scene for several hours, and road closures have been announced around the area with detours posted. Namely, drivers are encouraged to use Baker street to avoid the 1st Street North / Franklin Street area.
There is no word yet if there were any injuries.
