An area girl used her own money to help families in the North Central Wisconsin area. Maci Courtright decided to use her birthday money to purchase 40 teddy bears. She then donated them to the SAFER Fire Department and the Everest Metro Police Department to give to children and families in need. "Maci and her family are amazing for doing this, especially in this time of need. These stuffed animals, these stuffed bears will actually be put in officers squads and so if an officer comes upon a call or anyone who needs services or assistance they will give them to families in children," said Kou Moua, Community Service Officer for the Everest Metro Police Department. She also says these bears will make a difference when officers are out on those calls. The other bears will be given to SAFER for them to do the same thing.
