A residential and RV fire on Madison’s north side caused more than $200,000 in damage early Wednesday morning. Fire officials said crews were dispatched to the 1100 block of Shasta Drive around 12:20 a.m. for a report of a structure and RV fire. Neighbors called 911 after noticing an “orange glow” outside of their home. The residents were woken up by a smoke alarm and were able to evacuate with their dog. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found heavy fire coming from the front of the home. The flames were spreading around the exterior of the house from the garage area and up to the roof line. The RV parked in the driveway also sustained serious damage.
