The Coon Valley Fire Department extinguished a blaze that ruined a semi-tractor cab shortly after noon Monday in Coon Township. The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center paged the fire department at about 12:15 p.m. about the fire at the intersection of County Hwy. B and County Hwy. KK. The cab was engulfed in flames when the fire crews arrived, but all units — Engine 1, Squad 1 and Tender 1 — were clear within about an hour, according to a news release. The Vernon sheriff’s department also was on the scene.
