A plane crash in the Town of Hartford left a female flight instructor dead and another man pilot injured, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office was notified the female pilot succumbed to the injuries overnight that she sustained in the plane crash. A small plane crashed at approximately 11:20 a.m. Saturday in a cornfield near the Hartford Municipal Airport. When authorities arrived, they found a man and woman in the plane. Investigators determined the male pilot was receiving instruction from the woman, who was a flight instructor. The man was taken by ambulance to Aurora Medical Center - Hartford and then flown by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. The woman had to be extricated from the plane and was taken to the Life Net hanger at the airport and then to Aurora Medical Center - Summit by the LifeNet helicopter.
