A 33-year-old Holmen motorcyclist died in a collision with a car Monday afternoon after trying to elude Onalaska police at speeds of up to 100 mph, according to the city’s police department. An officer noticed motorcyclist Tou Yia Lor speeding southbound on Hwy. 35/Second Avenue South near Main Street shortly before 1 p.m., according to an Onalaska police news release. Given the severity of the accident and injuries, the Onalaska Police Department asked the Wisconsin State Patrol Reconstruction Unit to help with the investigation, as is common in such cases. Assisting Onalaska police besides the state patrol were Onalaska Fire and Rescue, La Crosse County Emergency Services, Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance, the La Crosse County Medical Examiner’s Office, Holmen Police Department, Onalaska Public Works and Don’s Towing and Repair.
