A team of three retired officers injured on the job have created a support group for other first responders in need across the country. Like most police officers, firefighters and paramedics across Wisconsin, they dedicated their lives to protecting others. But three former officer have now found a way to do just that in ways they never imagined by creating a non-profit called Injured Sheepdogs. It was two years ago in West Allis when Officer Ryan Kendall was working his shift and had to handcuff a suspect. Bodycam footage of the arrest shows three officers trying to get the suspect in the squad car. Officer Kendall was at the man's feet, trying to hold him down, when suddenly the man kicked him and would soon change his life forever. “He gave me an outward style donkey kick to the groin and pelvis and I immediately went numb. I literally felt like the life came out of my body,” Injured Sheepdogs founder Ryan Kendall said.
