Two pets are dead and a home is a total loss after a fire northeast of Poynette. Multiple fire departments responded to a structure fire Thursday. Columbia County dispatchers said the call came in around 11:45 a.m. Authorities said the fire happened near Dunning Road and County Highway B. Crews reported that a single-family home was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived. No first responders were injured during the fire. Officials said the Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents The incident is currently under investigation
