Monona fire crews rescue hiker from marsh

Monona firefighters and law enforcement rescued a hiker from Yahara River marshes Saturday afternoon. The Monona Fire Department assistant fire chief told 27 News, a hiker got stuck in the mud. MFD crews shut down two lanes of the Beltline to station a firetruck on the bridge. They extended the ladder over the bridge and two firefighters and one Dane County deputy were able to rescue the hiker. The assistant chief said there were no injuries.
