The Neillsville Fire Department responded to a shed fire yesterday afternoon. According to Neillsville Fire Chief Matt Meyer, around 4:16pm, they received a report of a shed fire at W5745 Strobel Road in the Township of Pine Valley. The resident had used a lawn mower prior to the fire and parked it in the shed when done. It’s unclear if some leaves had caught fire or faulty wiring in the mower had caused the fire. There was some structural damage to the corner of the shed and heat and smoke damage to the items in the shed. The Department was on scene for one hour, they had no injuries on their part, and had no mutual aid, except the Neillsville Ambulance Service was on standby.
