Beloit man dies in house fire

A Beloit man died in a house fire in the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue this morning (Friday, Nov.19). Crews from the Beloit Fire Department responded to the house fire at 4:19 a.m. after someone passing by reported heavy smoke coming from the home. The body of the man was found by fire crews in the home. No one else was in the residence at the time of the fire, according to a news release from the fire department. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The fire department is being assisted by the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office. The name of the deceased individual has not been released pending notification of family.
