Twenty-four hours after an SUV driver visited horror on the city's Christmas parade, hundreds gathered for an evening of interfaith prayer and an opportunity to embrace their sense of community. “We walk that street everyday, it’s home, and it just hits really close to home," said Kim Mischalouski, Waukesha resident for 30 years. "Tonight was to help me kind of feel better. It’s not there yet, but it’s coming and I was hoping there was going to be something like this." Cold and wind didn't stop members of the community from attending — instead, they bundled up and handed out hot chocolates and water to those around them at the city's Cutler Park. “I'm here because this is my community, this is my home. That’s what brought me out is being here for the community," said 30-year Waukesha resident John Armeson.
