Firefighters helped rescue a woman and her dog from a house fire early Monday morning. Crews responded to a call for a house on fire just after midnight. A person was reported to be trapped in a bedroom with their dog. Firefighters gained access to the first floor apartment on 615 South 7th St. First responders located the woman in a bedroom where she stayed as firefighters extinguished the flames on the first floor. Both the woman and her dog were safely evacuated. Two other people on the second floor were also located and safely evacuated.
