Firefighters found two people dead after responding to a suspicious fire on Rangeline Road in the town of Day, near Stratford.
The Stratford Fire Department responded shortly after 6 a.m. Wednesday to a report of a fire at a home in the 205000 block of Rangeline Road, according to the Marathon County Sheriff's Office.
Firefighters found evidence of foul play and could not find the home's owner, according to the sheriff's office. They contacted Marathon County deputies, searched the fire scene and found two dead people.
The cause of death for both people and the cause of the fire are suspicious, according to the sheriff's office, which did not provide further explanation.
