Milwaukee police say one person was killed in a crash and fire Monday night. It happened around 9:30 p.m. on Appleton Avenue near Silver Spring Drive. Police said the driver lost control of his vehicle, left the road and struck a light pole and tree. The vehicle then burst into flames. The driver was the only person in the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene. His name was not released.
