The identities of two people who died in a fire on April 6 have been released and foul play has been ruled out in their deaths. The Marathon County Sheriff's Office says the victims are 44-year-old Tanya Rodriguez and 52-year-old James Carolfi, both from the town of Day.
"Upon the firefighter's arrival they were unable to locate the homeowners and found evidence of suspected foul play for this reason we originally treated this incident as a homicide until we had more information," Chad Billeb, Marathon County Chief Deputy said.
As a result of the investigation, it was determined that both victims were dead before the fire started. The deaths were found to be accidental in nature and are believed to be caused by electrocution from fractal wood burning.
