One person was injured Wednesday in a house fire on the city’s east side. Fire crews responded around 11 p.m. to a house fire in the 1400 block of Eliza Street, according to Green Bay Metro Fire Department. Fire officials said crews arrived to smoke and flames coming from the first and second floor of the home. They extinguished the blaze in about 15 minutes, as crews had to get to the second floor of the home. Fire officials said one person was taken to a local hospital for smoke inhalation. The fire is under investigation by the Green Bay Metro fire marshal. Fire officials said the blaze started in the kitchen and caused about $100,000 in damage. The fire displaced two people living there.
