A fire at a Sun Prairie apartment complex Wednesday night caused $75,000 in damage, the city’s fire department said Thursday.
In a news release, the Sun Prairie Fire Department said the fire broke out around 10 p.m. at an apartment building in the 2000 block of Wyoming Avenue. When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from a first-floor apartment and evacuated nearby residents. Firefighters were able to contain the flames to one apartment, the release said. No one was injured.
A nearby resident opened their home to people who had been evacuated to help them stay warm while crews responded to the fire, according to the release.
