Dane County Sheriff Kalvin Barrett says a home and two cars in the Town of Dunn are total losses after a fire. Dane County Sheriff's Office PIO Elise Schaffer said the two homeowners were inside when they smelled smoke coming from the attached garage. They evacuated without injury. Barrett credited first responders' quick actions with preventing more damage. "Monona Fire Department, Stoughton Fire Department and McFarland Fire Department arrived on scene to assist and did a fantastic job putting out the blaze before it spread to other areas of the community," he said. "I want to thank the first responders for responding the way they did and saving the lives of two individuals involved in this incident."
