Warehouse containing paper, plastic catches fire in Green Bay

Police are providing more details surrounding the warehouse fire in Green Bay on Sunday afternoon. According to the Green Bay Metro Fire Department (GBMFD), at around 4 p.m. crews responded to the 600 block of Liberty Street for reports of smoke and flames being seen coming out of an industrial warehouse. Upon arrival, crews confirmed that smoke and flames were in fact coming from the warehouse, which was full of paper and plastic material, and ensured all employees were out of the building. Due to the nature of the incident, GBMFD was forced to call additional fire personnel to the scene. Responding agencies included: Suamico Fire Department, Howard Fire Department, Ashwaubenon Fire Department, and the De Pere Fire Department. Together, firefighters conducted an interior attack on the burning product and start extinguishing the fire.
