Earlier Monday morning the Minocqua Waste Management Hauling & Transfer Station burst into flames. The fire broke out in the main processing building. A neighbor near the waste management station said he heard a loud explosion before noticing smoke coming from the area. 19 fire departments from around the Northwoods responded with 50 trucks and 150 firefighters coming through to help. Minocqua Fire Chief Luke Taylor said a truck dumped hot material into the building, which set other material on fire. The fire is contained, but as of Monday late afternoon, authorities are still on site cleaning up the scene.
