AVillage of Pleasant Prairie proposed public safety referendum has received public endorsements from three professional organizations.
Endorsements have been announced from the Pleasant Prairie Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 3785, Pleasant Prairie Police Appreciation Association (PPPOA), and Pleasant Prairie Professional Police Association Local 185 (PPPPA).
All three organizations support the referendum that will appear on the April 5 spring election ballot.
The referendum will ask Pleasant Prairie voters to approve a $1.6 million perpetual tax levy, beginning in 2023, to hire and retain four additional police officers and 12 additional fire and rescue staff to cover the Village’s growing public safety needs.
Jeff Gunhus, president of the Pleasant Prairie Professional Firefighters Local 3785, said members of the union fully support the referendum and its mission.
