A heat lamp sparked a fire in Casco Thursday, according to officials.
At 1 p.m., the Luxemburg Community Fire Department responded to a fire at a home at County Road E in the Town of Casco. It required mutual aid.
Firefighters arrived to find flames and smoke coming from a two-story farmhouse.
The homeowner escaped without injury.
Crews put out fire in the front of the home as other firefighters worked on putting out the fire on the second floor and attic.
The house sustained heavy fire, smoke and water damage. The American Red Cross was called to assist thee homeowner.
“Cause of the fire is from a heat lamp being used in the front area of the home,” says the Luxemburg Community Fire Department.
Crews were on scene for about six hours.
