One person died when an Ashland home went up in flames Monday night. According to the Ashland Fire Chief, crews got the call about the single-family house fire near 14th St. W. and Beaser Avenue around 10:27 p.m. Monday. Firefighters arrived five minutes later and had the fire, which was contained to one room, extinguished by 10:42 p.m. The victim’s body was found inside the home. Authorities have not named the person who died. The State Fire Marshal arrived on scene around 3 a.m. Tuesday and is still investigating what caused the fire.
