On Saturday multiple area emergency response agencies — including Kansasville Fire & Rescue, Town of Paris Fire & Rescue, Rochester Volunteer Fire Co., Wind Lake Volunteer Fire Co. and the Racine Fire Bells — conducted a live-fire training. The building burned down here has a Kansasville address, 975 224th Ave., but is located in Kenosha County's Town of Brighton. The structure was donated. Of the training, which allowed firefighters to practice reading smoke — attacking fire with hoses, search and rescue, and using tools like ladders near a blaze — KFRD Firefighter/EMT Ryan Hoover stated: "It makes it real."
