Milwaukee firefighters battled a two-alarm house fire near 34th and Lisbon on Monday morning, May 16. The fire ended up spreading to another home. Initially, FOX6 News learned one person was unaccounted for. Authorities said the condition of the home was not stable for them to enter when they first arrived. After entering the home, Milwaukee firefighters discovered a 75-year-old man dead in the residence.
A 12-year-old male family member suffered from smoke inhalation. He was transported to a local hospital where he is expected to survive. Fire crews worked to keep the fire from spreading further.
"Extra firefighters there with waterlines to make sure we hose down, keep them wet, so they don’t start a fire as well," said Assistant Fire Chief Sharon Purifoy.
