Man, dog die in Grand Chute duplex fire

A man and his dog died Sunday in a fire at a Grand Chute duplex. The name of the victim has not been released as of Monday morning. The fire also displaced three other adults. Sunday, November 27, 2022, at approximately 7:50 pm, The Grand Chute Fire Department was sent about 7:50 p.m. Sunday to the 600 block of South Olson Avenue for a report of black smoke and fire inside the home, according to the Grand Chute Fire Department. The Appleton and Fox Crossing Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene at the same time in keeping with automatic aid agreements. The first crew arrived quickly after dispatch to find heavy smoke and fire showing inside one side of a single-story duplex. After a quick knock-down of the fire, a deceased 55-year-old male and a deceased dog were found in the house.
