At around 8:20 AM the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received a call from a home owner at W11455 Longview Road, between County Highway M and Savage Road north of Waupun, reporting there was a fire in the house.
The Waupun Country Fire Department, as well as Brandon, Alto, Oakfield, Lamartine and Fox Lake Fire Departments were paged out to the scene.
Upon arrival, heavy smoke and fire could be seen. Waupun Fire Chief B.J. DeMaa requested that the response to the fire be upgraded to a MABAS or Mutual Aide Box Alarm System which brought in additional units from Juneau, Kekoskee, Burnett, Brownsville, Horicon, Ripon, Town of Fond du Lac, Theresa and the City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue departments. It is unknown if all dispatched departments actually responded to the blaze.
