The Beaver Dam Fire Department recently received a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. The agency is getting $10,000 from the Forest Fire Protection grant program which is available to state fire departments and county fire associations. The money, along with funds from the Beaver Dam Community Fire and Rescue Association, will help the Beaver Dam Fire Department replace its 2003-year model UTV and skid unit. Fire Chief Michael Wesle says the skid unit will replace a snowmobile that is used in winter months for gaining access to areas not accessible by road. Wesle says his department extends their gratitude to the DNR and the Beaver Dam Community Fire and Rescue Association, adding that their support makes these projects possible.
