PHOTOS: A barn fire in Calumet County Thursday left one person and dozens of cattle suffering from smoke inhalation.
At 9:21 a.m., the Chilton Fire Department responded to a barn fire in the town of Charlestown at N3035 Irish Road.
When crews arrived, they observed smoke coming from all sides of the barn, with flames on the south end where the upper portion was full of hay. Officials said flames were impacting several propane tanks.
Additional departments from Brown, Manitowoc and Fond du Lac Counties were requested for water and manpower.
30 head of cattle were removed from the barn but suffered smoke inhalation. One person was transported from the scene for smoke inhalation.
An investigation into the fire is ongoing.
