VIDEO: A total of 13 people have been displaced by a fire on Madison's east side early Tuesday morning. Two blocks of Milwaukee Street were closed as crews responded to the residential fire. The call came in just after 3 a.m., according to Dane County dispatch. News 3 Now's crew reported the building is residential and appears to be a duplex. Seven units from the Madison Fire Department responded. A portion of Milwaukee Street remained closed as of 4:45 a.m. Tuesday. A Madison Fire Dept. official told News 3 Now that all residents and pets got out of the duplex and there are no injuries to report. The American Red Cross is assisting the 13 people displaced by the fire. MFD said the fire caused $150,000 in damage. The fire remains under investigation.
