Fire crews from multiple towns worked together to put out a house fire in Stoddard on Tuesday night.
The fire was called in shortly before 6 p.m. at a house on Lake Road.
When firefighters arrived to the scene, there were flames coming out of the windows of the home.
Crews from Stoddard, Coon Valley, Shelby, and Genoa worked together to get the fire put out quickly enough that the house is still structurally sound.
"It's pretty gutted in there right now," said Chief of the Stoddard-Bergen Fire Department Brian Lehmann. "The structure is pretty sound, roof is pretty sound. Our crews did a real good knock down job on this. Having a big crew like this, having all the departments here ... shows what Vernon County can do."
