The Beaver Dam Fire Department is the recipient of a $1,000 grant. The money comes from the Community Giving Program Grant from Alliant Energy and the Alliant Energy Foundation. Fire Chief Michael Wesle says the grant will be used to purchase two multi-gas detectors. He adds that those detectors will be utilized by the fire department’s Technical Rescue Team. Since 1998, the Alliant Energy Foundation has invested $62-million-dollars in local community organizations and initiatives. Each year, the Foundation supports projects that help families, communities, and that protect the natural beauty of Iowa and Wisconsin. The Alliant Energy Foundation is an independent, nonprofit philanthropic organization. Wesle says his department extends their gratitude to Alliant Energy and their Foundation. He notes without their financial support, this project would not have been possible.
