VIDEO: Eight residents of a Madison apartment building were displaced following a cooking fire Wednesday evening, the Madison Fire Department said. The fire was reported just before 5:55 p.m. at an apartment building in the 1300 block of East Washington Avenue. In an incident report, the city's fire department said firefighters got to the scene and found the building's sprinkler system had extinguished the fire. A total of three units were affected by the sprinklers going off. No one was hurt in the fire, officials said. The American Red Cross is helping those who were displaced.
