PHOTOS: The West Bend Fire Department held a swearing in and pinning ceremony for their new fire chief, Les Norin, on Monday. The department holds the pinning ceremony as a way for the honoree to celebrate the occasion with their family and colleagues, and for their family to take part, which Norin’s did, with his wife, Ozaukee Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chelsey Norin, pinning on his badge and his son, Aodhan, pinning on his lapel pins. Before Norin’s badge and lapel pins were placed on him by his family, he was ceremonially sworn in by West Bend City Administrator Jay Shambeau. Norin had previously been sworn in before assuming the role of chief on Oct. 2. "It has been a pleasure to get to know Les in the last few weeks, and his family," said Shambeau.
