VIDEO/PHOTOS: The Green Bay Metro Fire Department and Fleet Farm are teaming up to help provide safety and warmth this holiday season with essential winter clothes for women in need.
GBMFD and Fleet Farm in Bellevue each donated roughly $1,500 worth of coats, gloves and hats for women staying at the St. John's Ministries homeless shelter.
It comes at a time when women are having to stay at the St. John's men's shelter after the non-profit decided not to open the women's shelter due to staffing shortages.
“We rely so heavily on community support. Volunteers, financial, and in-kind donors make everything we do possible,” said St. John's Community Engagement Specialist Tony Schneider. “The donations from Green Bay Metro and Fleet Farm will certainly go a long way toward providing necessary warmth and safety for the most vulnerable women in our community.”
