PHOTO: The crew at Wausau Fire Department Station 2 wanted to feel right at home, despite working on Thanksgiving.
So they brought in the turkey, the carving knife, and all the fixings for a proper feast.
The fire department hosted a Thanksgiving meal for over ten years now, and say its important to sit down as a family and enjoy moments like these.
"Sitting down having a meal together build's comradery. When were away from our families its so nice to sit down having the nice classic Thanksgiving meal together while were away," said Wausau Fire Department station 2, Fire lieutenant, Brian Bauknecht.
This holiday season their were a total of four firefighters at Station 2, on hand in case any birds burned in the oven - or to respond to more serious calls.
While they waited, one of the firefighters wanted to whip up a home-cooked meal.
