VIDEO: An apartment building fire broke out in Superior Thanksgiving morning, displacing tenants from all eight units. The call for help came in around 10 a.m. on the 1500 block of North 5th Street near the Hammond Steakhouse. When firefighters arrived, they found smoke and flames coming from the rear of the building. Apartments are up top. The Viking Bar is below. All tenants got out safely. A cat was rescued and transported to a local animal hospital for treatment. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced tenants of all eight units. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Authorities told FOX 21 the building is currently “not in habitable condition,” according to Battalion Chief Steve Miner Thursday night.
