PHOTO: A fire on Arcadian and Oakland avenues on Thursday afternoon left a man with life-threatening injuries, according to a press release from Waukesha Fire Department Battalion Chief Scott Purdy. At approximately 4:30 p.m., the Waukesha Communications Center heard from a caller who was driving by Arcadian and Oakland and saw smoke coming from the house on the corner. Fire/Police arrived at 903 Oakland and found moderate smoke coming from the second-floor windows. During the search and fire attack crews located a person inside the building. He was removed from the 2nd floor apartment and transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Additional firefighters quickly brought the fire under control. Damage is estimated at $50,000 with the cause still under investigation.
