The Onalaska Fire Department hosted an open house event on Saturday, inviting residents and families to experience a day filled with excitement, education, and community engagement.
For the younger attendees, there were interactive and educational activities. Children had the chance to explore fire trucks and equipment up close, while firefighters patiently answered questions and provided valuable fire safety tips.
This hands-on experience allowed kids to learn about fire safety in a fun and memorable way.
One of the main attractions of the open house was the smoke house simulation trailer provided by the Fort McCoy fire department. Something that Onalaska firefighter/EMT Jarod Benson say offers tons of educational opportunities.
