The Pine Lake Fire Department received some new equipment earlier this week. Thanks to two grants worth up to $3,000 they were able to receive a new AED. The grants were from the Wisconsin Public Service and Mutual of Wausau Insurance Corporation. Fire Chief Brian Gehrig says it's crucial for their department to have up-to date equipment. "It’s invaluable for us to update our equipment constantly because a lot of our equipment gets outdated and the manufactures’ don’t service us anymore, and they’re basically kind of disposable equipment after a while," Gehrig said. To help receive new equipment, the fire department hosts several fundraisers throughout the year. Gehrig says they have some more upgrades to do. The Pine Lake Fire Department's next fundraiser will be their Haunted Open House.
