The Assembly honored Jahnke in a public ceremony with other recipients from across the state.
"Wesley embodies the quintessential qualities of a First Responder – compassion, bravery, and sincere dedication," Born, R-Beaver Dam, said in a statement. "His unwavering commitment has undeniably enriched both Beaver Dam and the entire state of Wisconsin, leaving a lasting positive impact on these communities."
Jahnke has been a member of the Beaver Dam Fire Department for eight years, serving as captain for the past year. He also is part of Wisconsin Task Force 1, Wisconsin’s statewide urban search and rescue team, and leads the Fire Department's Technical Rescue and Dive teams.
